Are you searching for sustainable and eco-friendly solutions for your business? Look no further than compostable materials. Compostable plastics are a type of biodegradable plastic that can be broken down by natural processes and microorganisms into organic compounds, leaving behind no harmful residues or pollutants.

Our compostable plastics are made from renewable materials such as corn-starch or sugarcane, unlike traditional plastics that are made from non-renewable sources such as oil. Conventional plastics can take hundreds or even thousands of years to break down, posing a significant threat to our environment.

Our compostable plastics are designed to be composted in industrial facilities, where they can be broken down into organic matter and used as soil amendments. They are often labelled as “bioplastics,” and they are a perfect alternative to traditional plastics.

It is important to note that compostable plastics should not be composted in home composting systems. They require specific conditions and temperatures to break down properly. If compostable plastics are not disposed of correctly, they can still harm the environment and contribute to pollution.

Join us in our mission to create a cleaner and sustainable future for all. Choose compostable plastics today and make a significant impact on our planet.

“OK Compost” mark
Are you looking for a compostable product that you can trust? Look no further than our BIO range of products, certified with the prestigious “OK Compost” quality seal.

UPM compostable products are OK Compost HOME certified by TUV Austria

UPM compostable products are OK Compost INDUSTRIAL certified by TUV Austria

Our BIO products are made from cornstarch, which is a renewable and sustainable material that breaks down CO2 neutrally, leaving behind no harmful residues or pollutants. They are not only reusable, water-resistant, breathable, and food safe, but also 100% biodegradable and compostable.

The “OK Compost” quality seal was issued to us by the globally recognized TÜV AUSTRIA Group, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards for biodegradability and compostability. The certification process is based on the internationally recognized European Standard EN 13432, which guarantees that our products can break down quickly and completely in either an industrial composting facility or a home composting system.

Regardless of which composting method is chosen, our products are guaranteed to meet the fundamental requirement of certification for both “OK Compost HOME” and “OK Compost INDUSTRIAL.” That is, 90% of the item must be broken down within 180 days of being introduced to a compost environment.

We care about our environment and take pride in our products’ ability to degrade even in the ocean. Our BIO resins have been tested and confirmed in accordance with the European Commission’s “Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) pilot program,” taking only 35 to 39 weeks to break down in the ocean.

Choose our BIO range of products today and join us in our mission to create a cleaner and more sustainable future for our planet.
